Confetti tunnel in the grounds of Springfield House

Wedding photography at Springfield House

Wedding photography at Springfield house in Pilling, Lancashire was the location for Ryan and Larissa’s quirky wedding. A photogenic backdrop of blue skies and green fields greeted me on this gorgeous spring day.
I arrived early to capture some scene-setting photos of Springfield House, which looked just as picturesque as its surroundings. Springfield House was the perfect location for a Manchester wedding photographer to capture the love and emotion that the engaged couple had planned for their big day.
The wedding was styled on the film “Up”, the story of a couple’s house which drifts into the clouds carried by balloons. As I looked through my camera’s viewfinder, all I could see was balloons and more balloons. It could easily have been the set for a film sequel with a flying Springfield House!

Wedding photographer at Springfield House Pilling

This was my first time as a wedding photographer here at Springfield House in Pilling, and the green lawns and colourful flower beds made for some good subject matter to mix in with my documentary style of wedding photography. What this means is that there’s no posing or stopping to say cheese; I will capture your day as it naturally unfolds so you can enjoy every moment, which will be reflected in the pictures. By committing an image digitally to camera, it will become part of your cherished memories of your wedding day.

The children start the day in the garden at Springfield House

The wedding day celebrations started with lawn games for guests to enjoy, which the couple’s two young sons joined in with at the first opportunity. However, they were soon called to Dad’s room in Springfield House to put on their wedding attire in preparation for their roles as ring bearers.
As the crucial bridal preparations took place in another suite, the mother of the bride and chief bridesmaid enjoyed a few glasses of wedding champagne. There were no Jimmy Choo wedding slippers for Larissa but some very different (and much better!) wedding shoes with a flamingo-shaped heel.
From this suite I captured some beautiful frames in the window light from Springfield House, the use of light and dark giving the images tone and which would make some stunning black and white pictures for the wedding album.

The balloon filled ceremony room at Springfield House

The ceremony room at Springfield House was festooned with colourful balloons. Doing justice to the beautiful venue, guests wore smart wedding outfits, fascinators, wedding hats and carnation button holes. They waited eagerly for the bride to walk down the aisle escorted by her Dad to give his daughter’s hand in marriage.
After the civil ceremony the newlyweds headed outside with the all-important wedding certificate. High shutter speeds were needed to keep the images correctly exposed on one of the best April days I have seen. Formal group shots on the lawns at Springfield House made sure everybody worked up an appetite before the wedding breakfast. See if you can spot the gift Larissa gives her new husband during the speeches…
