Eaves Hall wedding photographer.
Wedding photographer at Eaves Hall Lancashire

One privilege of being a wedding photographer is working at wedding venues like Eaves Hall, this Lancashire wedding venue is set in beautiful gardens against a backdrop of the Ribble Valley Lancashire.  Eaves Hall is without a doubt one of the finest exclusive-use wedding venues in the North West.
The first thing that springs to mind when you enter Eaves Hall is how exquisitely decorated and flooded with natural light the venue is – truly a documentary wedding photographer’s dream location. No wonder Eaves has been nominated for the Great Northern Wedding Awards again this year! It was an honour to be play “cameraman” here and why I love being a natural and unposed documentary wedding photographer.
I had met betrothed couple Will and Michelle earlier in the year, when I digitised to camera their engagement shoot with my fellow photographer David Stubbs, who would join me again at Eaves Hall.

Eaves Hall weather welcomes photographer

I was welcomed to Eaves Hall by a dose of typical Lancashire weather. As a professional wedding photographer in the UK I know that even the grandest venues aren’t immune to drizzle, so all my cameras and lenses are weather sealed.
Over at the bridal suite, the champagne was on ice as Michelle and her entourage – four bridesmaids and the mothers of the bride and groom – were pampered by hair and make-up artists Flossey and Leigh. Not forgetting a pre-ceremony Lancashire breakfast of  pre ceremony bacon butties, of course!
A vintage Daimler and Rolls Royce arrived at Eaves Hall to transport the bridal party and groomsmen too.  The Vicar was waiting at the steps to the church St Leonards (15 minutes drive from Eaves Hall) , along with ushers looking dapper in their designer suits despite holding aloft umbrellas in anticipation of the girls!

Escorted down the aisle to the wedding nuptials

Michelle looked every inch the blushing bride in an elegant hooped wedding gown as she was escorted down the aisle on the most important walk of her life. Her proud father ready to offer her hand in marriage to partner and soulmate Will.
The wedding service and the giving and receiving of rings culminated in the signing of the register of marriage and the newlyweds leaving with their marriage certificate to prove to the world that two had become one. The guests greeted the new life pair in the church lobby, with love and emotion. One of my favourite images of the day is of the cute flower girl brandishing a little pink umbrella.

Formal Photos and Confetti at Eaves Hall

A short drive back to Eaves Hall. The wedding party gathered back in the lobby at Eaves Hall for pre- wedding breakfast drinks and formal group shots culminating in a confetti throwing free for all, the bridesmaids in particular getting in on the action. The Eaves Hall wedding pianist provided ambience.
After the wedding breakfast, speeches and toasts to the happy couple, magician Sam Fitton entertained guests prior to the evening party.
My aim as a wedding photographer is to capture beautiful images whilst ensuring guests are free to enjoy themselves without noticing me. I believe natural unposed wedding photography is far more effective because it captures the real mood, be it tears of joy or big grins after too much champers!
The cake cutting and first dance between the new Mr & Mrs was taken with  minimal flash and ambient light to give images the correct exposure on the camera’s sensor. Take a look at the roll of film strip images in the post below, here are some of my favourites from the days photography at Eaves Hall in the stunning Ribble Valley.
