Vermilion Manchester Indian wedding photography

The Groom Danceing in baraat at Vermillion.

Indian wedding Vermilion Grand suite Manchester

Dipti & Habibs Indian wedding celebrations were at Vermilion hall Manchester. Vermilion is located on Hulme Hall Lane. Right in the heart of Manchester. Close to Manchester City football club, the Manchester Velodrome  including Sport City, Manchester.

Vermilion is a three-floor function suite. This is perfect for Indian wedding functions. Because it has different sized venue spaces. All three designed by Miguel Cancio Martins. The Grand suite, Alan Turing room, The Abacus gallery. The Grand site function room has the capacity for up to 750 people, the biggest wedding hall here at Vermilion. A perfect venue for this Indian couple.

Indian wedding groom prep Stockport Greater Manchester

Groom prep was at Habibs family home in Stockport Greater Manchester just off the A6. A short journey for the Baraat back to City centre Manchester and Vermilion in Sport City. I was assisting David Stubbs Manchester wedding photographer. David was covering sangeet, with the bride. My journalistic assignment Indian wedding photography, Groom prep. Naturally captured, with no stopping or posing whatsoever.

Weather for the day was wall to wall blue sky. I would need some high shutter speeds to prevent overexposure of the highlights here in Stockport.

The Groom looked smart in his sherwani and churidas

The groom looked smart in his wedding  jacket – called a Sherwani. Matching over fitted trousers called churidas; besides Shoes or loafers, called Mojari. Part way into his dressing Habib got piccalilli on his sherwani looking for food in the fridge. Moments all preserved for the wedding image gallery.  Spot in the images Mum scrubbing with vanish to get the stain off, almost bringing her mehndi henna off. Moreover, the moments turned into beautiful wedding photography. A pictorial record, documentary Indian wedding photography by Manchester wedding photographer Simon Croot. Finally a traditional turban, or Safa to finish the Grooms dressing. This has a brooch called a Kalgi which symbolises respect. So, I watched observed and caught these special moments to camera; nothing is posed. Naturally taken wedding photographic style I love. Because it produces natural images, never to be repeated.

Baraat to Vermilion

The wedding limousine for baraat to Vermilion was the Grooms relations Porsche. As a result, decorative limousine ribbon was needed for the baraat transport. I accompanied the best man  to a Wedding florist for the ribbon.

Onward journey to Vermilion Manchester, and candid natural photography as the wedding guests gather outside Vermilion. Moreover, every frame I take is unposed and natural in every way. Vibrant saris fill the cameras viewfinder, beautiful photogenic traditional Indian attire to celebrate a couple about to cement their marriage.

The Bridal Procession 100 guests and 100 Frames to the memory card

The Bridal procession was not with a doli, but 100 guests. Therefore, the family arranged a drum procession. as the doors opened to Vermilions Grand suite the cameras shutter captured 100’s of frames to the memory card. Photographing the 100 guests as they danced towards Vermilion’s Grand suite Stage and the Groom.

The Bride wearing red which in Indian wedding tradition,  connecting it to the rising sun. Because Mars the planet according to astrology is in-charge of marriage plus its red in colour too. Brides in a Indian wedding like to wear red as it stands for prosperity and fertility for the wedding couple.

     Wedding Photography Village Hotels

The Village Hotels Group ‘tag line’ for weddings and special occasions. “Any excuse for a celebration”.

The Village group of hotels has four hotels in the Manchester area. All offering wedding packages in their Inspiration Suites. As a wedding photographer based in Manchester, (at some point) I was going to photograph a wedding at one of these Village Hotels.

The VUR Group has thirty Village Hotels in its chain.  Four of these are within my locality; Hyde Village, Ashton Village, Cheadle Village and Bury Village. The closest is The Village Hyde. This particular hotel has excellent links to Manchester (Hyde North Railway Station). It is set in a quirky urban location which provides an interesting backdrop for wedding photography. An example being Station Road Tunnel. Some of the images below are from Station Road nearby to the Village Hyde.

Wedding photography at The Village Hyde

My wife and I held our own wedding reception at The Village Hyde some years ago. Our wedding photographer, David Mills, providing us with lots of tips; from wedding invitations, to the position of button holes and corsages. Best of all advising that we stop and pause at times throughout our wedding celebrations to savour the day. The photographic style at the time was posed formal photography delivered as a print from a film medium. Wedding photography in 2018 is now mostly digital, naturally taken with formal group shots. Natural candid wedding photography, is my photographic style if you would like to see more please go to my blog.

Sale Town Hall wedding photography| Ruth & Stephen

The first look as the Groom sees his Bride for the first time in her white wedding gown.

      Wedding photography Sale Town Hall

I was delighted to be asked by Ruth and Stephen to be their wedding photographer at the ceremony to be held at Sale Town Hall, and to naturally capture their wedding at Trafford register office, in the heart of Manchester. The betrothed couple had planned a intimate family wedding to make it a perfect day. Featuring their own classic wedding limousine, the couple had planned a trip to a Showaddywaddy concert for the evening celebrations.

I met Stephen and his best man before the civil service outside Sale town hall with his beloved classic Ford Cortina car which is affectionately known as ‘Peggy’ and is over 48 years old. Its gleaming blue paintwork coordinated with Ruth’s chosen bridal colour scheme, with the bridesmaids dresses and bridal bouquet.

Father of the Bride escorts his daughter to the civil ceremony room

The Bridal party arrived at Trafford Register Office and Ruth was escorted by her dear Dad to the civil ceremony room at Sale Town Hall. On the way, Ruth met the registrar to complete the formalities and take the walk up the grand town hall staircase to change her life forever and tie the knot to Stephen. It was all captured totally unposed in my style of documentary wedding photography. In the elegantly furnished civil room, the intimate ceremony culminated with the happy couple signing their wedding certificate, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Joy and delight in the air as they witnessed the newlyweds cement their love and commitment to each other! Erupting into laughter as Stephen waved his arms above his head triumphantly! Yeh!! He’d got his gal!!

      Confetti outside Sale Town Hall

Ruth and Stephen’s excited young children were looking smart in their wedding attire and could not wait to get outside the fine architectural town hall building in Sale to throw confetti at the happy newlyweds!! Having a natural wedding photographer (like myself) means all those moments that happen – big or small – can be safely captured and given back to the happy couple as a mono-tone or colour image, documenting and telling their unique wedding day story, and ensuring that it can be treasured forever.

      The Nevison Inn and Showaddywaddy

Ruth and Stephen planned their afternoon wedding celebrations, just out off Manchester along the East Lancs Road (A580) at the Nevison Inn. Here, at this quaint country setting the wedding party enjoyed wedding Champagne and drinks, delicious wedding buffet and of course.. cutting of the wedding cake. A traditional fruit wedding cake, made with love by Ruth’s Mum. Wow… it packed a punch, with quite a lot of wedding spirit to keep it moist.

The newlyweds love Showaddywaddy! Stephen, a longtime fan of the group, upon asking Ruth to marry him, had shared his wish to combine their wedding day with their love of Showaddywaddy. His bride to be, ensured this wish came true and so…the happy couple sang and danced the night away at their concert in St Helens surrounded by their nearest and dearest!! A fabulous end to a very special and unique day!

Thank you Ruth and Stephen for asking me to be your photographer, and for treating my family to a day that they thoroughly enjoyed. I loved being your wedding photographer and sincerely hope that you love the natural unposed wedding photography I have created for you.

Victoria Warehouse Wedding Photography | Jenny & Mike

        Victoria warehouse wedding photographer

Wedding photography at Victoria Warehouse in the North West

Documentary wedding photography in the North West at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse.  This old warehouse, which was built in 1900, has stood as a symbol of the cities industrial strength and innovation for the past 100 years. It stands tall in the North West of England in one of the most exciting cities… Manchester. The decor is unique here at the warehouse, with painted brick walls and a mixture of the original steel features to add to the couple’s wedding photography. This was my second wedding at Victoria Warehouse within two months. Jenny & Mike tied the knot and held an unforgettable ceremony for family and friends. The engaged pair had loved the ambiance of Victoria warehouse situated in the Trafford Park. This venue is completely unique, an entirely innovative event space in the heart of Manchester. I joined David Stubbs an award winning wedding photographer, to capture the day.

Mike and his best man, arrived in a open top Caterham wedding car, and greeted by his ushers and long-standing friends from his childhood (who had fun and games planned for him later on during the speeches). Read on!

Registrars waiting for the bride at Victoria warehouse.

Jenny had everyone a little worried, door key problems at the house meant they couldn’t lock up, which made Jenny a little late. The registrars were waiting for the bride to arrive at Victoria warehouse, they were beginning to tap their feet because they had another wedding ceremony in Manchester city centre later that day. However Jenny arrived to declare her love for Mike amongst family and friends. Jenny, looking radiant and beautiful in a stunning ivory lace wedding dress and was complemented splendidly by her bridesmaids in their elegant blue dresses. Both the mums had elegant wedding outfits & fascinators too. During the wedding service the couples rings were presented by the page boy.

Unposed and unobtrusive photos at Victoria warehouse

Jenny & Mike were greeted with a flute of champagne to begin their wedding celebrations from the master of ceremonies at Victoria warehouse. Later, the wedding party gathered outside the wedding venue, near to Manchester’s swing bridge for a few formal photos, next to the famous ‘Skyhook’. The couple walked together near the Skyhooks, a great opportunity to take some unposed and unobtrusive wedding photography. I especially enjoy this part of my wedding photography, it always provides the newlyweds with some time together, for a little escape, and a kiss and cuddle with there new spouse. After romantic stroll the happy couple made there way back to Victoria Warehouse for reception sparklers at dusk, followed by the wedding breakfast and speeches.

Mike’s best man and ushers had arranged a ‘birth to marriage’ slide show speech of Mike’s life, shown on large screens. A very humorous and well presented addition to a fantastic wedding nuptials.  Congratulations to Jenny & Mike enjoy married life!

Didsbury House Hotel-Wedding-Photographer| Mariam & Martin

Didsbury House Hotel-Wedding-PhotographerDidsbury House Hotel wedding photographer

I was so pleased to be asked to assist award winning Manchester wedding photographer David Stubbs.  Didsbury House is nestled in the leafy Manchester urban village of Didsbury, close to city centre Manchester.  Didsbury House Hotel, is another eclectic hotel in the small chain. Didsbury House, features the classic tradition of something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue; in its fixtures and fittings. A perfect wedding location, full of interesting photographic features. Most of the immediate family of the couple stayed here before the service, includeing Mother and Father of the Bride, and the Groom’s Family, plus the Best Man & Ushers to.

Mariam was to tie the knot to her betrothed Martin, in a civil ceremony and would walk down the staircase at Didsbury house, to be given away by her father. with a proud Mother of the bride looking on  The staircase features in my photography here at Didsbury house. With a classic silhouette looking down the stairs. The soft light flooding into the dark space of the hall from 3 angles, to produce a perfect exposure, to make a super grey scale image. Later, the wedding speeches were held here too, with plenty of candid unobtrusive images captured to the cameras memory card.

To start the big day, Canapés, Champagne as light refreshments before the joining together in matrimony of a couple deeply in love from the Bride and Groom.

The marriage  and exchange of vows at Didsbury house hotel

The marriage at Didsbury House hotel, Mariam & Martin exchanged solemn vows, and became Man and Wife, they walked down the aisle to confetti thrown by the guests. The newlyweds now wearing the bright new rings to say to world… love today, tomorrow and always!

The cameras shutter did not stop here, we took the short drive to Fletcher Moss Park, for some relaxed natural wedding photo’s. The sun was going down, giving fantastic dusky evening light, low key and high key lighting in the same location, and a fantastic loving couple to shoot in this gorgeous photographic light. I love winter weddings, it makes the evenings at wedding locations like this, very picturesque and a joy to shoot.

          A wonderful married journey together

The couple started married life at Didsbury house hotel, and began their new lifes journey together as Man and Wife. Now the proud owners of a Marriage certificate in their names,  and onward to a honeymoon to relax after their wedding day.

Congratulations to Mariam and Martin. Enjoy married life! Thank you for the fantastic opportunity to shoot a wonderful wedding at a fantastic venue, Didsbury House hotel.

            Last Drop Village Hotel-Wedding-photographer |Danielle & Danny

            Last Drop Village-wedding-photographer

Wedding photographer at The last drop village hotel

It was a pleasure to be Danielle and Danny’s wedding photographer at The Last Drop Village hotel and document their wedding, which had an Super Hero theme.

It was a short drive to Bolton in Greater Manchester, to the wedding venue, The Last Drop Village Spa hotel, located on the edge of the West Pennine Moors over looking Bolton. The hotel was given its name after the last drop of wine was drunk at the celebration of its completion in 1964. Here, the Penny Farthing Suite, was the location for the transformation of the engaged couple, into the next wedded double act… Mrs Bride & Mr Groom, in real life Danielle and Danny!

I joined the award winning photographer, David Stubbs, to capture the bridal preparations and marriage ceremony. Later, with hundreds of images captured, the wedding shoot culminated in Danielle and Danny cutting the very unusual four tier super hero wedding cake, and their first dance as man and wife.

Unposed documentary photography at Last drop Village

Documentary wedding photography at Last drop village unposed & Documentary style. Danielle began her bridal preparations in one of the wings of the Last Drop Village hotel. She was joined by her two bridesmaids and the Mother of the Bride. The brides hair and make up were being done by make up artists Flossy & Leigh.

To everyones delight, Danielle’s wedding shoes were not the traditional wedding slipper, they had amazing super hero pictures on them. It was the first time I had taken photos of this type of wedding slipper! More often it would be Jimmy Choo bridal slippers, but no convention here, for our beautiful blushing bride today, so full of fun! Although, these colourful wedding slippers were discreetly covered by Danielle’s elegantly flowing white wedding gown.

Following a memorable wedding ceremony, and once the wedding register was formally signed, and the couple had the marridge certificate in hand. The Penny Farthing Suite at the Last Drop Village was transformed. The tables themed with different Marvel super hero characters, ready for the wedding breakfast, with favours for the guests. Each table a spectacular image in itself, great to photograph.

I took lots of vibrant photos, unobtrusively, in documentary style, with no stopping or posing. Just observing, with the aim of capturing natural imagery, that can be remembered long after the wedding guests have left the Last Drop Village. One frame, particularly memorable, captured to the camera’s memory card, a young Usher, who truly was in the role… he was indeed a wedding super hero too, and loving every minute! My camera and lens was there to capture it all.

Evening light at Last Drop village Bolton for unposed natural wedding photography

In the evening light, Danielle was whisked away by her super hero husband. They walked together, hand in hand, through the grounds of the Last Drop Village, whilst the sun went down over the West Pennine Moors, over looking Bolton, Manchester. A photographic dream location, in fantastic light, to shoot natural, relaxed photos, no posing or need to interrupt. I followed discreetly, as Danielle and Danny walked, capturing lots of natural images of the newlyweds together.

As the celebrations continued, I got a fantastic shot of Danielle, a bride full of fun, tossing her wedding bouquet up in the air towards her bridesmaids; a great moment, captured, to be enjoyed again…and again. The evening reception continued late into the night with a live band. Many Congratulations to Danielle & Danny.

Helen and Jim’s, Great John street hotel wedding Photography

A photgraphic story of Helen and Jims wedding photography at The Great John Street Hotel, Which was a Victorian school house in a former time, but now a chic eclectic townhouse hotel. Perfect for Manchester city centre wedding photography of Helen & Jim. The rooftop lounge and ‘Playground Terrace’ is where the reception began with cocktail drinks. In years gone by it had been the playground for the school, yes on the roof!  It gives clear views of Manchesters Granada Studio’s and the old Coronation Street iconic cobbles below. It is a very eclectic venue with lots of interesting features to mix in with the couples wedding photography. Its lighting is very different in places and you need a wide aperture lens to get the correct exposure on the camera sensor. This was one of the things I loved about this very photogenic city centre wedding venue.

This was my first visit to this fantastic wedding venue Great John street hotel in the Spinningfields area of Manchester, located in-between Deansgate and the River Irwell, right in heart of Manchester. A perfect location for unobtrusive documentary photography. The ceremony was held in the Headmasters Office.  Jim was looking very dapper in his blue suit, with his best man at his side, as he waited for his bride to come down the aisle. which was decorated with rose petals and candles for lighting. Helen, wearing a elegant white wedding gown, and was given away by her mother. The wedding flowers were from the Flower Lounge  in Didsbury providing a vibrant floral display.

Outdoor photography around Great John Street

Following the wedding formalities, Jim took Helen, his new wife, for a romantic walk hand in hand, down Great John street. I took some natural outdoor photography of the happy couple, as they walked in and around the John Street area of the city of Manchester. We returned to the Rooftop Lounge, where, as part of the wedding entertainment for their guests, the newlyweds had laid on a magician. He provided some natural funny moments to store to my memory card. Then came the wedding breakfast, a fun speech from the best man, full of jokes about the groom’s past.  A bag full of Helen and Jim’s wedding favours was past around the tables by the guests.  It was a joy to take such vibrant images at Great John Street Hotel, and I can’t wait to bring my camera and lenses here again! All the photos you see below have been taken in my unobtrusive, documentary style, which if you don’t know, means ‘no posing’ or pictures setup in any way, just photographs taken naturally as it happens.

Congratulations to Jim and Helen, “enjoy married life” from Simon Croot Photography
